Food Pantry

St Stephen’s has established an outreach for all residents of Hendricks County in cooperation with Gleaners Food Bank Agency and Hendricks County Food Bank Coalition. Our Mission is about feeding the hungry and spreading God’s Love.

Our Story

“There but for the grace of God go I.” This lesson we learned at our parents’ knees made taking up the challenge of a food pantry a mission we were thrilled to accept. We understand that the majority of American’s live paycheck to paycheck and just a couple of bad breaks can put anyone temporarily in need. We hope to be there when they need us and then see our clients go on to get back on their feet and need us less and less.

We are a choice pantry, where clients are allowed to choose from a wide selection of available foods based on the number in their family. We serve all residents of Hendricks County. Our pantry is currently open on the fourth Saturday of every month from 9 am to 11 am. We hope to soon be open on one other day during the month.

We are active members of the Hendricks County Food Pantry Coalition and we are a Gleaners Food Bank agency.

Our pantry mission is, “To be an expression of God’s Love by helping those in need.”

In our first six months of operation we served 198 families and 599 people in Christ’s name. We are always happy to have not only members of our church volunteer but students and groups looking for community service opportunities are welcome too.
